Grassroot Movement in Nepal (GMIN)
GMIN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable social and environmental change in Nepal. Rooted in local knowledge and collective intelligence, GMIN empowers communities to address pressing challenges and create lasting solutions. When disaster strikes, GMIN also mobilizes to support relief and recovery efforts when called upon.
  • We work primarily to provide access to education for students in rural parts of Nepal that need it the most.
  • We work to empower girls and women in Nepali society by granting scholarships to more girls and by launching women empowerment programs.
  • We take a pride in being a volunteer based transparent and sustainable organization which maintains a start-up culture that allows us to quickly adapt and innovate.​

Education

With our goal of 'One School at a Time', we identify existing schools with poor infrastructure and renovate/reconstruct to create bigger, better and brighter classrooms. 

Vocational Training

Vocational Training Center and Health Clinic have been established in Dang, Nepal with a goal to empower women with various vocational skills.

Disaster Relief

After the devastating earthquake in April 2015 in Nepal, GMIN has played a significant role in the rescue, recovery and rebuilding efforts.
